BeHygeia: A Modern and Stylish Salon Design

Creating a Beauty Salon that Redefines Avant-Garde and Fashion

With its curved walls and geometric layout, BeHygeia showcases the gentle and beautiful feminine curves that inspired its design. The irregular space is transformed into a visual experience of grace and beauty, both from the outside and inside. The almost pure white public space, adorned with curvilinear layouts, exudes a sense of ceremony and elegance.

The interplay of scattered lights creates a combination of virtuality and reality, casting interlaced lights and shadows that slow down time. In this serene environment, visitors can find solace and engage in a dialogue between their bodies and souls.

The main materials used in the BeHygeia project include art paint, stainless steel corrugated board, and wallpaper. The project covers a total area of 288 square meters, providing ample space for visitors to unwind and indulge in a luxurious beauty experience.

The bold blue and green accents in the lamps and niches establish a visual connection between the internal public areas and the surrounding environment. The metal baseboard adds a touch of modernity and avant-garde aesthetics, further enhancing the overall quality of the space.

Located in Shanghai, the BeHygeia project commenced in August 2020 and was completed in December 2020. The design team, led by Lycent Lai, meticulously researched and incorporated elements that would create a comfortable and pleasant environment for visitors. The soft and warm colors, along with the modern and elegant atmosphere, provide a relaxing and stylish experience.

The distinctive arc design not only adds visual interest and beauty to the space but also imbues it with a sense of uniqueness and vitality. The structure and circulation planning were carefully considered to provide visitors with an elevated experience, offering open, transparent, semi-transparent, and private spaces.

The BeHygeia salon design has been recognized for its outstanding creativity and ingenuity, receiving the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. This prestigious award honors designs that exemplify resourcefulness and authenticity, incorporating best practices in art, science, design, and technology to improve the quality of life.
